Buckinghamshire Council want to hear the views of local residents and organisations on the neighbourhood plan for Whitchurch.
In November 2020, the Parish of Whitchurch was designated a neighbourhood area by Buckinghamshire Council. This followed an application by Whitchurch Parish Council. Whitchurch Parish Council has now completed a period of local community engagement on the neighbourhood plan and have submitted the final version to Buckinghamshire Council. The next stage of the process is for Buckinghamshire Council to carry out a public consultation on the submitted plan. This is the final opportunity for local people to comment on the plan before it goes to independent examination.
Please review the proposed Whitchurch Neighbourhood Plan at YourVoiceBucks. Full information about how to comment can be found at this location.
Comments must be received by September 28th.
The Whitchurch Neighbourhood Plan is now at an advanced stage; the first draft has been made available to all residents (Regulation 14) and the Parish Council have approved (Regulation 15) for a revised draft to be submitted to Buckinghamshire Council for Regulation 16 approval. What happens next?
Buckinghamshire Council will review the submitted Neighbourhood Plan and when content that all is aligned with planning policies will submit to an Independent Inspector for further review. When approved by the Independent Inspector the Neighbourhood Plan will be submitted for a Yes/No vote of Whitchurch residents. If Residents vote Yes the Whitchurch Neighbourhood Plan will be "made" and incorporated into local planning regulations.
